Flowering scapes are rather stout, glandular-downy, covered with leaves reduced to scale-like bracts, crowned with densely cylindric racemes of greenish-white small flowers, which are also downy. Such dense racemes are typical only for downy rattlesnake-plantain; other species have more loose racemes.
