Identification of the plant in this photo presents a problem. The catkin has not fully developed its fruits; fruits are declining and falling off prematurely (abortive), which frequently happens in hybrids. Rusty willow may produce hybrids with the native willows. Hybridization with rusty willow might present a major threat to the native flora, a more significant one than a mechanical displacement of natives would pose. The red beetle must be Asian lady beetle Harmonia axyridis.
