April 13,
Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Plain, Boston
As compared to Siberian squill (at right), glory-of-the-snow seems to have a lower capability for conquering remote lands. It has been known as growing wild in only two of 14 Massachusetts counties (while Scilla siberica has been documented in five and made it into manuals). Chionodoxa has not produced extensive clones comparable to those of Scilla at the Arboretum.
