Myles Standish State Forest, Carver
An annual with rough opposite sessile leaves. Paired leaves connate at base and together form a cup-like sheath with 5-10 long, erect bristles. Fruits ovoid to obovoid, green and pubescent when young, turning brown and becoming short hirsute at maturity, crowned with persistent flower sepals.
