Two species of semi-shrubby bushclover are present in MSSF: L. bicolor and L. thunbergii, both introduced from East Asia. Thunberg's bushclover has become abundant on the gas line clearing NE of East Head Reservoir. It differs from two-colored bushclover by the overall size (at least in MSSF this is a much larger, bushier plant--perhaps because it is not mowed as much), by the size of flowers (they are also larger), and shape of calyx (see next photographs).
