Clearweed is a non-stinging low glabrous plant with opposite translucent coarsely toothed leaves on long petioles, each leaf with three prominent veins. It grows at cool and moist wooded areas, in the shade, along streams. This clone was found on the Neponset River bank, in a small depression behind a steep levee. Photo credit Luba Batuner
