Borderland Park, Sharon
One of the best perennial forage/fodder herbs, lucerne was introduced to New England by the early settlers and is now naturalized on most of the territory in New England states, persisting at old fields and pastures. Doing well in a mix with grasses, it can grow to about 1 m tall. This is an example of a sown field, still maintained in an old estate that has become a public park.
