A northerner in our state, snowberry has been sometimes encountered in Middlesex, Essex, and Norfolk counties of eastern Massachusetts--growing in hemlock forest. However, chances to find it are evidently better in the north of Worcester County (central MA), in the mixed coniferous forest with hemlock, balsam fir, and red spruce.
