November 4,
Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Plain, Boston
Differently from the majority of beggar-ticks species, this one is not a wetland plant. Its typical habitat is a roadside and other disturbed places, and we found it at the roadside, just behind the low wall of the Arboretum. That bright morning turned out to be our last chance to photograph this outstanding giant, as during the same day the leaves curled in and wilted due to the onset of cold weather.
