Indian Brook, Plymouth
There were only some few flowers that late, all of them 4-merous. Thus the clone had to be identified as C. cephalanthi. However, M. Costea identified it as C. gronovii. This raises doubts regarding existing records of C. cephalanthi from Plymouth and other Massachusetts locations. Occasionally we have observed 4-merous flowers in C. gronovii, though only one-two per population.
