Puschkinia differs from both Othocalis/Scilla and Chionodoxa/Scilla in having an additional structure: appendages of tepals forming a crown, or corona, to which the stamens are attached on the inside. the genus Chionodoxa (now often included included in Scilla) is also characterized by a central structure, but in that case it is formed by flattened stamen filaments that are distinct (not connate). In Puschkinia the central structure is continuous, without slots.
