Bachelor/Stony Brook Cons. Area, South Hadley
This eastern North American perennial has a wide geographical range spreading from Quebec to Florida, though it is now extinct in New Hampshire and rare in Vermont. It inhabits moist rich deciduous woods with slightly acidic or circumneutral soils. In Massachusetts its typical habitat is floodplain forest, predominantly of western and central parts of state.
