According to USDA Plants Database, this species is recorded from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Georgia; however, it is not included in the county checklist of MA flora and not shown as present in MA in Flora Novae Angliae. Three old MA samples presented at CNH Portal definitely originate from cultivated plants. Yet perhaps not all of about 50 photo-records at iNaturalist (as of Oct 2025) represent cultivated plants. The species' status here is shown as 'cultivated/waif' (to be clarified).
