Cutler Park, Dedham
Young sassafras on the bank of the Long Ditch, in front of the man-made pine grove on the Pine Island. The characteristic branching pattern of the little tree makes it noticeable all year round. In New England a relatively large sassafras is a rarity. For a New-Englander it's hard to imagine those gigantic trees full of fruit that beautify old pastures of North Carolina.
