Photo taken in 2007. Both shrubby oaks used to prosper side by side in this disturbed habitat--on piles of rocks along an unpaved road at the West Entrance. While the more common scrub oak was still there, dwarf chestnut oak disappeared by 2012 due to "roadside maintenance." Now there are invasive plants instead.
