The female is about 6 cm long (including legs), while males are much smaller (only about 1 cm). The diagnostic six dark spots are supposed to be on the underside of cephalotorax. Pale stripe visible along sides of cephalothorax and abdomen. Range: most of North America--from Canada to Mexico (less common in the southeastern US).
