Sexual dimorphism of this bug has been shown to be a result of sexual selection, black color of males helping them receive more energy at the critical moment (D.Punzalan, F.H.Rodd & L.Rowe 2007). Found on short-toothed mountain mint Pycnanthemum muticum.
