August 31, Forest Park, Springfield
This population of Myosotis (in a small pondlet and Pecousic Brook nearby) appears to be typical M. scorpioides, though some racemes are very long, exceeding 30 cm, which is characteristic of hybrids M. laxa ssp. cespitosa × M. scorpioides, according to European literature. At a closer examination, it turns out most of the flowers either have not produced any seeds or produced 1-2, rarely 3 seeds; 4 found only once. Photo 1 of 9
