Common cinquefoil looks much like dwarf cinquefoil, except its leaflets are toothed almost all along their margins. The two occur in similar habitats, sometimes even close together. Common cinquefoil goes into bloom somewhat later. When both grow together, one can see that common cinquefoil is larger and coarser in all parts, it leaves longer and narrower.
