Hopkins Memorial Forest, Williamstown
A tree of northern New England, striped or northern maple is naturally growing in western and central Massachusetts, reaching, however, as far northeast as Middlesex and Essex. It has been introduced to some southeastern counties including Plymouth. It is unclear whether it is native in Norfolk. This is a slender tree with three-lobed leaves and drooping racemes of greenish-yellow flowers. Photo taken in western MA
