Holbrook Sand Quarry
Comparison View. Atlantic white cedar (left): Comparatively shorter leaves with inconspicuous/absent keels and round (or closer to round), relatively smaller solitary pores in center of their abaxial surface. Leaves are not spreading. (Twig originates from a small AWC grove, Powers Farm, Randolph.)
Eastern red cedar (right): Longer leaves with more conspicuous keels and comparatively larger, oval solitary pores on their abaxial surface, closer to leaf base. Depending on the position of the twig, leaves may be somewhat spreading sideways, though they are not spreading in this example. (Twig originates from an old sand quarry in Holbrook.)
