Blue heart-leaved aster is rather common in our area. It can be tall (up to 2 m), much branched, like this one, yet also can grow as a modest single-stemmed plant. This specimen belonged to the large clone near the Forest Hills Gate, photographed in 2005. The aster has mostly disappeared from the grounds since then, probably due to intensive mowing.
