Flowers rose to purple, on slender pedicels. Shizocarps (fruits) of 1-3 articles, sinuses between articles broadly U-shaped (broader than in D. glutinosum) and deep, reaching all the way to upper suture (the latter character is one of those separating Hylodesmum from Desmodium).
