This climbing monoecious annual vine belongs to the genus distributed in America, Australia, and Polynesia. Clusters of sessile, dry and bristly fruit and five-parted leaves are those of burr cucumber, while clusters of hydra-shaped fruit and opposite lanceolate leaves belong to bush honeysuckle, on which the vine has grown.
