There is quite a bit of cranberries hiding amidst dense cattails in the Neponset River floodplain. They are perhaps the remnants of the vegetation that had been covering the floodplain before the cattail took over. Along with cranberries, lonely andromeda clones and scattered depressed bog willows are also found in the sea of cattail. If you don't like the cattail expansion, wait until the cattail is dwarfed and taken over by giant reeds.
