Black-fruited highbush blueberry is not always recognized as a distinct species. On the shore of Three-Cornered Pond in Myles Standish, "normal" and "black-fruited" highbush blueberry grow side by side. The difference in fruit color, as you can see, is rather pronounced. We wish we could also demonstrate the difference in the taste!
