Massachusetts Photo Gallery

About
The dataset is primarily based on herbarium records within Massachusetts (and in some cases within most of New England except northernmost parts of NH and VT) retrieved from CNH Portal and also on Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP) Massachusetts records by town (2017) for rare plants. It may also include generic records, such as observations published in county floras, as well as salicicola photo records.

This application employs client-side JavaScript Library from OpenLayers (http://www.openlayers.org); it does not use a GIS-enabled database.

Each record is to be verified, as records retrieved from CNH Portal are not free from database or parsing errors. This database may not yet contain recent additions to CNH Portal records for every taxon (work in progress). In the current version, some records pertaining to cultivated plants may not be excluded.
