Tepals are connate at the origin of each flower, which makes glory-of-the-snow different from squill, whose tepals are distinct all along. Separate stamens form a crown in the flower center consisting of flattened filaments, which makes glory-of-the-snow different from Puschkinia, whose crown is continuous, consisting of tepal appendages fused together.
